About This Event

Dante Settles joins our Vice President of Cross-Cultural Advancement Maya Breuer in this online gathering designed to bring yoga schools, teachers, and students together during this time of social distancing.

About the Presenter

Dante Settles (RYT 200) has been fortunate to have the outstanding experiences of being a father, mentor, coach, athlete, and entrepreneur, but these responsibilities took their toll on his mental and physical health. In 2012, he was overweight and had pain throughout his body from a professional football career. The loving father of a beautiful baby girl born with Muscular Dystrophy provided the inspiration for Dante to focus his awareness on his mental and physical health, along with his loved ones and community. Tapping into his faith and persistence to transition into a life of service, Dante seeks to serve as many people in his community through movement therapy, community inclusion, and wellness coaching. Inspired by his daughter’s disability, “Students with Aspiring Talents” was formed to serve individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Today, they are a thriving movement fitness and wellness company established in Washington, DC that serves populations expanding with the U.S. Federal and District of Columbia Government agencies, Special Olympics, Residential Providers, and more. Dante continues to live in Washington D.C. with his daughter, Chloe, where he serves and advocates for individuals living with disabilities and underserved communities.
