About This Event

The Black community has been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, leaving many wondering how to maintain normalcy at a time when everything is abnormal. This sangha explores how utilizing yoga and meditation can help reduce tension, stress, depression, and anxiety in individuals and families.


About the Presenter

Kathleen Souza (MS, MSW, LISCW) is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with over 30 years of practice experience working in both public and private mental health and behavioral health facilities. She has worked with a diverse population of adults, couples, and low-income families, with a specific focus on interventions and working with trauma-based adolescent males with violent and/or sexually offending behaviors. She has been both a participant and a presenter at "Yoga Retreat for Women of Color" and had been Clinical Director for ten years for a 22-bed Department of Youth Services hardware, secure, and locked facility for adolescent males before retiring. Currently, in her semi-retirement life, she is temporarily employed with the U.S. Census Bureau -- 2020 Census as a Recruiting Assistant/Census Response Representative.
