Dr. Roopa Bala Singh, Esq. (RYT 200) joins our Vice President of Cross-Cultural Advancement Maya Breuer in this online gathering designed to bring yoga schools, teachers, and students together during this time of social distancing.
Dr. Roopa Bala Singh, Esq. (E-RYT 200, RPYT) has years of online higher education teaching experience and has taught thousands of undergraduate Justice Studies students at the School of Social Transformation. In 2020, she launched the Critical Yoga Studies podcast, which explores race relations, as part of The New School’s Social Movements + Innovation Lab. She is an incoming Assistant Professor of Law and Civic Engagement at California State University, Monterey Bay, and a licensed attorney (UC Berkeley) with a Masters in Cinema (NYU) and a Ph.D. in Justice Studies (ASU). Dr. Singh is also the co-owner of a busy Brooklyn wellness center where she led the prenatal yoga teaching program and was the first South Asian American standards advisor at Yoga Alliance.
