About This Event

Nick and Aaron of Men Care Now, discuss the Yoga for Young Athletes program designed to help yoga teachers communicate and integrate yoga into sports and recovery programs for youth. Conversation also illuminates the benefits of teaching yoga to youth, including how to deliver and structure a class.


About the Presenters

As a first-generation Cuban American, Nicolas de Alejo has always appreciated perspective and culture and he is forever thankful for those who have shared their perspectives and culture with him through his yoga journey. He is a social health and well-being entrepreneur and has founded or funded several companies in the wellness space. He has extensive training in multiple mindfulness and movement modalities, including RYT-500 (Pure Yoga) and several advanced training programs with Loren Fishman, Maty Ezraty, YogaWorks, and other skillful teachers and comprehensive studios. He is also a trained neuroscience meditation teacher with an emphasis on love and kindness, compassion teachings, and breathwork. Nicolas is the founder of Men Care Now, an RYS-200 that embodies the power of perspective and aims to educate and support men via physical and mental fitness programs. He has taught yoga and other movement techniques at several leading studios, including Pure Yoga and Chelsea Piers, and has experience with various men's circles and yoga communities, including Sacred Sons and NFS Underground Yoga.

Aaron Scott, aka Coach Scott, is a lifelong learner, coach, athlete, jack-of-all-fitness trades. Coach Scott can compete with the best of them, and is an influencer of health and wellness in the community. Coach Scott has extensive training and background in sports, movement, and mindfulness modalities and has over a decade of experience working with elite athletes, high school students, and members of the community of all ages on improving performance. He is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) and MCN Love & Compassion Ambassador with Men Care Now, NASM-Performance Enhancement Specialist, Conjugate Tactical Certified Coach, Rocktape FMT Mobility Specialist, and Crossfit and Olympic Weightlifting coach.
