About This Workshop

This workshop defines senior populations, outlines specific health issues this group may have (such as heart disease and osteoporosis), and details teaching methodology. Further discussion will cover how COVID-19 has impacted seniors, and the precautions studios are taking to re-open.


About the Presenter

Paula Levesque (E-RYT 500) graduated with a BA from The Ohio State University and has been teaching yoga for over 15 years. She began studying yoga over 20 years ago, and in 2004, she was certified at the 200-hour level by Maya Breuer of the Santosh School of Yoga. In 2009, Paula received 500-hour accreditation at the Kripalu Center for Yoga. She also studied with Nischala Devi and completed certification training in Yoga of the Heart for cardiac and cancer patients. Paula has completed studies for teaching yoga to students with osteoporosis with Beata Barnard at the Sivananda yoga ashram and completed SunLight Chair Yoga Teacher training with Stacie Dooreck in 2018. Currently, Paula teaches gentle yoga in Tampa, Florida.
