About This Workshop
Plank pose, or chaturanga dandasana, is a nuanced posture that sparks conversation and creativity. This workshop discusses how the joints are positioned and loaded in the common variation of this pose. We also learn how to create a more expansive idea of alignment, so we can understand when a student may require alternatives to the typical variation. And, we play with chaturanga! Practice with props, movements, and creative iterations of this remarkable pose.

About the Presenter Show
Erin Ehlers (E-RYT 500, YACEP) has taught yoga and movement for nearly 20 years. With over 2,500 hours of professional training for yoga, movement, massage therapy, anatomy, and physiology, she has created a career with dedication. Besides teaching yoga classes and training yoga teachers, she is certified as a Yoga Therapist and is also a Licensed Massage Therapist. Erin's classes challenge, inform, and illuminate. There are many aspects of modern yoga, and she chooses the ones that heal and interrupt the worst habits of our sedentary culture. She teaches the detail of movement in a way that everyone can understand. Though she has great interest in the traditions of yoga, Erin delves passionately into the sciences of biomechanics and kinesiology to teach from a perspective that questions assumptions about traditional asana practice.
