About the Presenter Show
Tari Prinster is a cancer survivor, master yoga teacher, author, speaker, and founder of yoga4cancer (y4c), an organization to bring oncology yoga to cancer survivors worldwide.
After Tari’s cancer diagnosis in 2000, she used yoga to aid her own recovery. Tari wanted to help other survivors find strength, side effect relief, and long-term health. In 2003, yoga4cancer methodology was developed, which is based on published research; well-known physical, physiological, and emotional principles of yoga; and Tari’s work with students and survivors. Today y4c offers an online certificate program to give students the conceptual and clinical expertise to ensure that yoga professionals can safely and effectively support the cancer community. Tari’s 2014 book,
Yoga for Cancer: A Guide to Managing Side Effects, Boosting Immunity, and Improving Recovery for Cancer Survivors is an illustrated guide for cancer survivors, which has been translated into Spanish and Japanese. Tari’s work was featured in the film YogaWoman and she was awarded Yoga Journal’s first Seva Leadership Award. Her mantra is “Cancer steals your breath. Yoga gives it back.”
