About This Workshop

Join Yoga Alliance’s Chair of the Board Kerry Maiorca and Francine Kelley as they discuss the impossible pressure, we put on ourselves, as yoga teachers and practitioners, to always be Zen, or at least be perceived that way.

About the Presenters

Kerry Maiorca (E-RYT 500) is passionate about supporting practitioners in figuring out what their time on their yoga mat has to do with living a more conscious and joyful everyday life. Specializing in Gentle & Restorative Yoga, Kerry is the founder of Bloom Yoga Studio, voted "Best Yoga Studio" in Chicago eight times in its 15 years of operation. Now living in Boulder, CO, she continues in her role as owner of Bloom with the help of her incredible team of teachers and staff. Kerry is honored to serve as chair of the board for Yoga Alliance.

Francine Kelley (RYT 500, LCPC, SEP) became a somatic psychotherapist after teaching yoga for many years and realized the value of yoga as a mental health practice for her clients and for herself. After training in various somatic and trauma-informed approaches, she co-founded the Chicago Body Mind Wellness Studio, a group practice that offers somatic and yoga-informed psychotherapy for trauma survivors. She is passionate about promoting a holistic and body-inclusive approach to mental health and wellbeing that encourages curiosity and compassion for the human experience.
