About This Event

Compassionate cueing explores how intention and empathy help create safe and inclusive spaces. Cueing is a key tool for yoga teaching and can be broken down into different components and perspectives. This workshop helps participants develop an understanding of how compassion can show up in teaching and practice.


About the Presenters

Ashton Antoine (RYT 200) is a competitive cyclist and runner who believes everyone can achieve optimal health and wellness in a safe, effective and sustainable way. Ashton loves life and brings his optimistic approach to every training program and client relationship. Specializing in athletic performances, strength, and conditioning, with a focus on running and cycling, Ashton emphasizes the mind-body connection for active, healthy lifestyles. Yoga has allowed him to deepen the connection between mind nd body and has enhanced self-love and compassion. When teaching, he encourages his students to create their own daily practice. Ashton is a certified functional strength (CFSC), precision nutrition (PN1), and pre/postnatal coach.

As a first-generation Cuban American, Nicolas de Alejo has always appreciated perspective and culture and he is forever thankful for those who have shared their perspectives and culture with him through his yoga journey. He is a social health and well-being entrepreneur and has founded or funded several companies in the wellness space. He has extensive training in multiple mindfulness and movement modalities, including RYT-500 (Pure Yoga) and several advanced training programs with Loren Fishman, Maty Ezraty, YogaWorks, and other skillful teachers and comprehensive studios. He is also a trained neuroscience meditation teacher with an emphasis on love and kindness, compassion teachings, and breathwork. Nicolas is the founder of Men Care Now, an RYS-200 that embodies the power of perspective and aims to educate and support men via physical and mental fitness programs. He has taught yoga and other movement techniques at several leading studios, including Pure Yoga and Chelsea Piers, and has experience with various men's circles and yoga communities, including Sacred Sons and NFS Underground Yoga.
