Compliance with the Law

Last Updated: December 31, 2017

No component of a Yoga Alliance continuing education course, class or yoga teacher training may include activities, requirements, or other conduct that violates applicable federal or state law or the laws of the jurisdiction where the class or program will be held.

It is not appropriate for a class, course, or training to include any activities that are criminalized under federal or state laws or the laws of the applicable non-U.S. jurisdiction. With respect to possession or use of controlled substances, such as alcohol, marijuana, and any other drugs, this Policy prohibits classes or training within the United States that include marijuana use, unless and until such use is no longer prohibited under the federal Controlled Substances Act and under the applicable laws of the state or locality where the class or program is held.

Violation of this Policy is grounds for revocation of the member’s registration with Yoga Alliance and/or other corrective measures, including disallowing credit for the course or program, as determined in the sole discretion of Yoga Alliance.
