Welcome to your next step towards health and overall wellbeing - I look forward to working with you!
Together, we'll utilize the evidence based practice of your choice; be it meditation, yoga and/or any aspect of your health that you’d like to focus on through health coaching. Feel free to inquire about scheduling individual sessions if an upcoming event isn’t quite what you’re looking for.
When I'm not serving clients directly, I'm working diligently to elevate the practice of patient centered care and health at the organizational level. To that end, I recently reviewed Covid-19 grant applications for Johns Hopkin’s Urban Health Institute, and when called upon, I am a merit reviewer of applications for funding from Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
For four years now, I have facilitated Johns Hopkins’ required Integrative Medicine course designed to allow first-year med students experiences with complimentary modalities as a way to understand the relevance of these practices to patient care.
In general, I am a Kripalu Yoga Teacher, an Internationally Certified IYT, and have earned the Yoga Alliance’s designations of YACEP, E-RYT200, RYT500. I am also a Duke Integrative Medicine trained and National Board Certified Health Coach. I have my Masters, a Bachelors of Science in Psychology, and am certified to provide CPR, as well as Mental Health First Aid.
Thanks in part to Yoga Warriors International, I have now supported those experiencing combat stress, post-traumatic stress, and homelessness for three years, primarily at the Maryland Center for Veteran Education and Training. Please also know that I am trauma informed and understand both resiliency and post traumatic growth.
When you become my client over the longterm, I provide you with the support needed to find your way to optimal health, through the most difficult health related decisions, including end of life care. In 2016, I received a scholarship through the New York Zen Center to attend the Buddhist Contemplative Care Symposium.
In the past I have lead special events, workshops and taught ongoing yoga and meditation classes across the state of Maryland, including locations such as: Medstar’s Shepherd Clinic and Joy Wellness Center, the League for People with Disabilities, the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Baltimore, the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the Maryland State Education Association, led workshops for the staff of Johns Hopkins' Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and the Red Cross, taught yoga before Tara Brach's lectures through the Insight Meditation Community of Washington DC, offered public events at the Baltimore Museum of Art, taught yoga to the youth fellows in Congressman Elijah Cummings’ program, taught meditation to the young people learning to code at the Druid Hill YMCA, taught yoga before school at Waverly Elementary Middle School, provided restorative yoga for those involved with contemplative care at the Shambhala Center, introduced pop up yoga at the Cloisters through Baltimore Office of Promotion and The Arts, and has substituted for other yoga teachers at locations such as Montgomery Park, Aspen Institute, and even for the Skipjacks hockey team.
I have cultivated a personal practice over two decades, through Buddhist meditation, and various forms of yoga (including Vinyasa, Ashtanga, and Bikram). In addition to being a yoga enthusiast, I am an avid cyclist, kayaker, runner, and even a Josh Billings triathlete.
