Continuing Education

What do I do if I am unable to meet my Continuing Education requirement due to my in-person trainings being cancelled or postponed?

We are committed to protecting the health and safety of our members. During this critical time, RYTs may count online trainings and Yoga Alliance’s virtual CE workshops as contact hours to maintain and meet the Continuing Education requirements.

How do I log my Continuing Education online trainings as contact hours in my teacher dashboard?

To submit your virtual hours as contact hours, simply follow these steps:

  1. Log into your account to access your “Teacher Dashboard.”
  2. Click “Add Hours” under “Training Hours” on the right.
  3. Scroll down to select the type of course you completed.
  4. Select “In person with someone who is not a YACEP.”
  5. Select “Some Contact Hours”. Click “Yes” when the system asks if your provider met the qualifications.
  6. Then your next question it will ask for the instructor’s name.
  7. Click the check box for “I assert that my Continuing Education Provider meets the above requirements”.
  8. Input in your “Start Date” and “End Date”, as well as the “Continuing Education Activity” and the “Location” of the course.
  9. You will then enter in your hours of completion of the course in the educational category chart.
  10. Click “Assert” and “Save” when finished.

Social Justice

What is Yoga Alliance’s view on today’s events surrounding racism and social injustice?

We stand with the Black Lives Matter movement. We are committed to addressing racism and hate, and fighting inequity and oppression in yoga spaces and everywhere. This is reflected in the recent launch of the member-wide Ethical Commitment designed to unify members around shared principles and safety guidelines for the profession of yoga teaching. We are also partnering with experts in the field of social activism to offer relevant, effective, impactful programs for our members and internal team. To learn more, please visit our Social Justice Resources webpage.

Why does Yoga Alliance’s Social Justice page only focus on racism?

This page will be used in response to and as a resource for ongoing and timely social justice issues. You will see the information we are sharing at this time specifically focuses on anti-racism. This is intentional. We made this decision because we recognize the urgent imperative before all of us: to learn about, pay attention to, and amplify the particular histories, experiences, and perils of being Black in America.
