About Elise Bowerman

Since 2009 I have been teaching Hatha, Vinyasa, Prenatal Yoga, and Mom + Baby Yoga in group classes and private yoga sessions. My personal yoga practice started in 1999, at the age of 18. As a Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (RYT 500) I have taught athletes, people with limited mobility or recovering from situations such as chemotherapy or radiation, and folks looking for a new method to maintain or improve health.

My passion focuses on empowering women in their childbearing years. From experiencing two natural childbirths and being a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher (RPYT), I've witnessed the need for greater encouragement during this time in a young family's life. I'm able to share options for women that they didn't know they even had! More than ever women have the opportunity to prove to themselves that they are capable of birthing from a place of confidence, resilience, and trust.

Prior to becoming a yoga teacher I was a classically trained dancer for about 20 years; and an executive assistant with 15 years spent in the corporate industry. Although I’m an introvert, I’ve been on stage the majority of my life - I truly find it comforting to be in front of an audience. It’s a privilege to be responsible for “holding the space.” Plus, it's exciting to share what I’ve discovered through the practice of yoga and other alternative modalities.

When you practice with me you’ll notice detailed attention in the postures as it carries into each transition to the next. I also include a great deal of opportunities to explore how the movements feel in the body and what feelings may arise throughout our time together. Pure exploration is the main focus.
