Niradhara Amma amma@narmadainterfaith.org is a resident of Maheshwar for 9 years, originally from NY. She teaches Yoga on the premises at her SwAr Ashram on the banks of the most sacred River Narmada. Authentic Yoga is part of the curriculum, including asana, pranayama, mudra, bandha, Sanskrit mantra, philosophy, ethics and meditation, and a focus on Agnihotra Vedic fire. Integrate these into your experience of Yoga among the ancient culture of the Motherland in our holy hamlet in India. Niradhara also teaches Yoga at the Royal Heritage properties of Ahilya Fort and Labboo’z Lodge for guests with a room booking, upon request. All of Niradhara’s Yoga teaching benefits her Swar Ashram’s charity work.
She has studied Yoga since 1973 including the past 15 years living at Ashrams for study of Yajnya (Fire Ceremonies), Sanskrit and Yogic Sadhana. Niradhara earned her Certification in Hatha Yoga in the Himalayas at Kailash Tribal Yoga School. She graduated from The New Seminary and is ordained by The Interfaith Temple of NY as an Interfaith Minister. As a Lay Minister, for all of the 1990s, she taught Yoga and Sacred Arts at MCI-F, a maximum security women’s prison in MA and to youth at risk in MA through a Nantucket Sheriff’s Grant. After her ordination, her devotion to the Sacred Fire of Agnihotra led her to be called to serve the Master Shree Vasant's Goshala at the Sacred River Narmada. After years of serving this community, she was appointed by Swami Anantram to run his Ashram where she is the Managing Director, providing Yoga & English lessons, a Vedantic Library & Computer access, all free to under-served youth in the community. Niradhara is now pleased to offer continuing education for YA teachers as a registered YACEP.
