About Austin Ince

Austin is a SYT, Senior Yoga Teacher, 500 E-RYT, experienced registered teacher and Yoga Elder, IYN, based in Wansworth who teaches in the SW London area. He came to yoga in an attempt to avoid surgery for a painful lower back condition. The results were “amazing” and he no longer needed an operation to ease the pain. So impressed with the results of yoga and the life-changing effect it had, Austin decided to become a teacher and share the benefits of yoga with others. He completed an ‘It’s Yoga - San Francisco’ Ashtanga Vinyasa teacher training course before continuing with their Advanced ‘Rocket’ Vinyasa course with 'The Yoga People.' Austin also completed the Tapasya Yoga teacher training at Triyoga with Kristin Campbell. Then adding a 300hr Advanced Teacher Training in an Anusara lineage with the Bindu Yoga School based in Vancouver, taught by Suzanne Slocum-Gori, Noah Mace, Nico Luce and Dr Genieve Burley. He has undertaken five different yin trainings with Bernie Clark, Paul Grilley, Sebastian Pucelle and Murielle Burellier, and Norman Blair. Anatomy studies with Gil Hedley and Prof. Peter O'Sullivan. Austin practises deep mediation which he studied in Vancouver with Nathalie Keiller. Prior to teaching yoga Austin moved to London from his native Scotland to work as a musician and had a successful career in the music business as a recording engineer, music producer. Paul McCartney, Elvis Costello, Sting, Hans Zimmer and Michael Nyman are some of the many artists he’s worked with.

As well as teaching classes and giving private one-to-one instruction, Austin has tutored on Yoga Alliance US certified teacher-training courses in the UK and Goa and runs his own CPD 60 hour Yin Yoga Teacher Trainings in London certified by YA US. Austin tutors on 200 hr and 300 hr TTC's, contributes to Yogacampus's Yin TTC, mentors on Yogarise's 200 hr TTCs and leads Yogarise's 50 hr modular yin training.

Austin’s classes are energising and flowing, balancing a strong physical workout with a calming restorative element. He keeps instruction clear, interesting and light-hearted, while never losing sight of the serious benefits to his students from what he is teaching. He believes that to grow as a teacher it’s important to remain the eternal student.
