Tara Lemerise, E-RYT-200, is a yoga teacher in the Washington, DC area. She took her first yoga class in college and was immediately hooked. She knew right after that first class that yoga would become an essential part of her life and she rushed home to research how to become a yoga teacher.
Tara found her heart and her yoga home after taking an Anusara class with Vivian Campagna in 2003. She went on to complete teacher training at Willow Street Yoga in Takoma Park, Maryland in 2005. Today, her teaching is most deeply influenced by the teaching of Moses Brown and Joe Miller. She has also completed restorative yoga training with Jillian Pransky and with Judith Hanson Lasater.
Tara is known for offering clear, light-hearted, and encouraging instruction to students of all levels. She has a deeply calming way of teaching restorative yoga and brings a strong understanding of anatomy to all of her classes, which helps her students understand and appreciate their bodies in new ways. From restorative postures to arm balances and everything in between, Tara encourages her students tune in to their body’s messages and she helps them seek out the delight in each moment. Students leave feeling more joyful and more at ease after each class.
Tara especially enjoys introducing beginning yoga students to the wonders of yoga and surprising all yoga students with the power of restorative yoga practice.
