About Irene Romano

“The physical, mental and spiritual health benefits I have experienced through yoga and meditation have been a great gift to me and have changed my life. My goal is to share them with other people in a safe and productive environment, with a sense of fun and enjoyment.”

My teaching style is the result of nearly a decade of studying with teachers from the most varied lineages and teaching mostly in the United States and Mexico. It has its roots in the awareness of movement in relation to breathing (pranayama) and careful self-observation, so that the practitioner can find a meditative state while moving on the mat. To do this requires a careful study of the asanas (positions), with meticulous attention to alignment and research constant balance between strength and flexibility, without ever neglecting needs individual specifications. In recent years, in my workshops, lessons and training courses for teachers, I deal with the dissemination of a female approach to yoga that honours the natural monthly and life cycles of women of all ages. Through the practice on the mat, I work to renew an old patriarchal model of linear and purely masculine practice (the one that came to us Westerners between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century) which it reflects the needs of the female body, mind and emotions, to embrace a new paradigm that women can feel more authentic and close to them.

Styles taught: feminine yoga, pregnancy and post natal yoga, yoga for fertility, hot yoga (26&2), aligned vinyasa, yin yoga, senior yoga, ayuryoga and children's yoga.

In each class there are elements of pranayama and meditation.
