The lesson I have been taught my entire life, you get what you put in. You can do ANYTHING you want to, all you have to do is the work to get there.

About Amanda Mendez

Amanda Mendez is a Yoga Alliance Continuing Educator Provider (YACEP) which recognizes her as an expert in one of more Yoga Alliance Educational Categories.

200 RYT (couple times over) Completed First 200 hour Program through Essential Hot Yoga February 2015, and then again in 2017, Most recently Baptiste Yoga Certified through an amazing training staff and then was fortunate enough to train with Baron Baptiste.

I enjoy sharing yoga with anyone willing to take a chance on themselves.  I have been fortunate to have shared well over 2500 hr teaching yoga, but most of my greatest lessons learned have been on my yoga mat and have spent well over that amount of time in my practice as well.

My specialty is working with Athletes/teams/active groups & individuals to use yoga for training.  Also working with First Responders using yoga to empower and help with on the job situations, stress, anxiety while physically strengthening the body.  Always being prepared both physically & mentally.  Using yoga to empower themselves physically and mentally to step into their own power.

I was born and raised in Boise, ID.  I wandered my way into a hot yoga class to get in shape.  But most importantly I received more.  I found my practice when I most needed it in life as I was caring for my mom with terminal cancer.  It allowed me an escape out of the mandatory reality outside the studio doors...my wreck of a life. Right then I knew this was much more.  I've been grateful for the many teaching hours, students, and experiences both yoga and life that continue to help me be a better teacher.  I took a huge leap and opened my own studio wanting to teach student how to practice differently and a different perspective of yoga, and something other than doing the same thing over and over again.  I opened Authentic Yoga Studio in Sept. 2018.  Becoming Baptiste Certified has been the level up I've needed not only for my practice but my teaching as well, I'm excited to share it with you and my community.  Stepping into my own power and opening up a studio has been the hardest yet most rewarding step into deepening my practice and teaching. Using the principles of yoga in my own life and teaching others how to do the same.  I am so grateful for the community we are growing around us.  I would love the opportunity to teach you to do the same!  Come join me for training & retreats.
