About Pachamama Yoga

Yoga keeps you conscious, it keeps you present. You wouldn’t even step onto your yoga mat unless you truly wanted to be the best version of yourself. You are here for a reason. The time you spend on your mat is the spiritual practice you dedicate to yourself and the universe. Yoga makes you take action from the deepest part of your being. Likewise, the more you study your body, the more you come back to the yoga studio. You begin to realize you’re part of a bigger consciousness of evolved human beings. The more you practice yoga, the more you realize that you’ve got work to do! That ‘work’ is to become the greatest version of yourself.

When we practice yoga, we start to pull out all those negative spaces that we hold onto in our body. If we push ourselves out of our comfort zone- fear comes up, doubt surfaces, anger rises, frustration emerges and righteousness takes over. By practicing yoga and pushing ourselves beyond our edge, we can start to get into these "stuck" places in our bodies. Through the kriyas (asanas) and pranayama (breath) are we able to surrender and let these negative emotions go.

I've had the greatest breakthroughs in life when I'm the most vulnerable. When a life situation calls you out- you are able to see yourself like never before. This is why I practice yoga, because I can't hide. I have to confront myself everyday. Yoga holds me accountable to fulfilling my intention, which is to open my heart and share with the world what I have every single day.

My passion for yoga began in 1998, when I attended the Center for Yoga- founded by yoga illuminary Ganga White. With a revolutionary outlook and approach to what is now called "Westernized Yoga," Ganga created a fusion of Ashtanga & Hatha yoga- now commonly referred to a Vinyasa Flow.

As a devout student of Ganga White, Baron Baptiste and BKS Iyengar, I have built a solid foundation in many modalities of yoga. My formal training includes: Ashtanga Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, Chakra Yoga, Transcendental Meditation, and Pranayama Breathing Practice.

With 20 years of experience as a Massage Therapist, Acupressurist, Holistic Health Practitioner, I have a well-rounded understanding of the human anatomy and how yoga translates to overall health and wellbeing on the physical, emotional and energetic levels. In addition to my alternative wellness credentials, I have gained certification in the following modalities:

  • Licenced Massage Therapist
  • Holistic Health Care Practitioner
  • Reiki Master
  • Chakra Balancing
  • Tibetan Bowl Sound Healing
  • Aromatherapist
