About Tina Nance

Tina Nance has been practicing Yoga for over 20 years and teaching yoga and women's work around the globe since 2003, in classes, workshops, retreats and yoga teacher trainings.

Tina is trained in both Classical Indian Yoga &  Chinese Taoist Yoga, & specialises in Yin Yoga & Mindfulness.

Tina is deeply passionate about creating opportunities for people of all backgrounds to connect directly and experientially with their body-mind and Spirit via the Yogic Arts, & is the founder of TNYT; a fusion of Indian Hatha Yoga & the 5 Element Meridian System.

Tina works within the understanding that many of the contractions of the body-mind, are a manifestation of an identification with thoughts and behaviors that are misaligned with the truth of who we are.  Tina's yoga is therefore focused on consciously unraveling our body-mind's contractions with guided awareness. Cultivating the art of deep presence, focused awareness and conscious breath within each asana, exploring all eight limbs of yoga simultaneously, on the mat. Re-establishing health and harmony by un-obstructing the flow of prana through the body's energy channels, while connecting to our innate essence as loving presence, containing & embracing all that arises . Inviting Integration of body, mind and Spirit.

In recent years Tina has specialised in Yin Yoga & Mindfulness, and Hormone Balancing for Women's Wellness,  travelling and teaching throughout Australia, Europe and Asia.

Tina is currently a resident yoga teacher & teacher trainer at The Yoga Barn in Bali, Indonesia, teaching regular classes, workshops & a 500hour TNYT Advanced Yoga Teacher Training programme specialising in Yin Yoga & Mindfulness.

TNYT draws upon the wisdom of the three primary wisdom traditions of Taoism, Yoga's Non Dualist & Hatha Yoga Practices & Buddhism's Mindfulness Meditations.

Fusing a heightened awareness of the Five Element Meridian system of TCM, whilst engaging all 8 limbs of Yoga on the mat, with Mindful Attentiveness.

Yoga Asana was created to be so much more than strengthening & stretching the physical body.

The perennial truth, recognised by the science of Yoga & indeed all of the Wisdom traditions, is that your Body, your Mind & your Spirit are intimately connected & indeed aspects of one inseparable whole.

The Science of Yoga is the practice of integrating all aspects/dimensions of your being (the Kosha’s) with the truth of who you really are.

This connection & integration occurs via the Energy Body, in yoga referred to as the Pranamaya Kosha.

Each yoga posture, inherently influences the flow of energy/prana through particular pathways within the body called the nadi's/meridians.

These pathways of energy connect your physical body (Annamaya Kosha) with your Mental / Emotional  Body ( Manamaya Kosha ) When we simultaneously cultivate meditative awareness, we open to connect with our vaster intuitive nature within our practice ( Vijnanamaya & Anandamaya Kosha).

Thus aligning all five koshas & supporting the recognition & embodiment of the true essence of who we are .

There are thousands of energy pathways in the body, however the wisdom of Taoism teaches us that we can connect with 12 main meridians to influence the flow of prana/chi into the 12 main organs of the body.

Each of these 12 meridians not only influences the optimising of the functions of these organs, but each meridian governs particular thoughts & emotions.

Yoga recognises that when we identify with & attach to thoughts ( that then manifest as beliefs, behaviours & patterns), that are out of alignment with the truth of who we are, that this manifests as a blockage of the flow of prana through these energy pathways.  Creating contractions & tensions in the muscles, tissue & organs of the body, & if repeated & unattended to, can result in imbalance.

TNYT engages specific yoga asanas to directly influence the flow of energy through particular meridians. Nourishing their corresponding organs & influencing the related aspects of the mental & emotional bodies,  creating a specific calming effect on both the body & the mind.

Each time we come to the yoga mat, we are unwinding both physical, as well as mental & emotional contractions from the past & realigning with the potent jewell of the present, within which lives our essential nature.

Not only optimising our health & well-being, but when combined with the practices of Self Inquiry &Mindful Awareness, invites the transmutation of our embodied, misaligned core beliefs  & the subsequent INTEGRATION of our Body, Mind & Spirit.
