TV host, Keynote Speaker, and Certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher Amanda B. Jones turned her struggle with anxiety and depression into a life of peace and success with yoga, meditation, Ayurveda and minimalism. Amanda has seen these simple methods lead to remarkable transformation, not just in her own life, but also those of clients and audiences throughout the world. After studying with Vedic masters including Deepak Chopra, Amanda founded The Dharana Method of meditation, which includes her 12-week Certified Meditation Teacher training, empowering others to change their lives and share meditation with others. As a person who puts empathy and inclusion first, Amanda has dedicated her life to spreading the Mindful Lifestyle message to people of all body types, ages, conditions, skill-levels and backgrounds.
A TV host and reporter who has spent more than a decade as a journalist, Amanda took a sabbatical 5 years ago to pursue studies in Yoga, Meditation and Ayurveda after dealing with postpartum depression, anxiety and a back injury. Proficiency in these studies lead her to become an adjunct professor of Meditation Theory & Practice, and a Yoga Teacher Trainer, at Salt Lake Community College. She then founded The Dharana Method of Meditation to share wellness with the world, becoming an Approved Training Provider with the International Institute of Complimentary Health, and a certified Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider along the way. In the midst of it all, she founded a series of fundraising events at The Living Planet Aquarium, including Yoga with the Sharks and Rainforest Yoga, which aim to raise the public's awareness of wellness and the environment. When Amanda is not studying, speaking, teaching or working as a TV host for Fox13 News in Utah, she enjoys bonding with her horse Nandi, trying to live a Zero-Waste lifestyle, cuddling with her young son and two dogs, and traveling with her husband, Chris.
