Susan is an American yoga teacher living and raising her family in Porsgrunn Norway. She has been teaching yoga since 2013 and maintains her own practice trying to bring it into all aspects of her life. As a mother of 3 young children, she approaches her practice in a grounded, fluid, and natural way. She teaches yoga with openness, warmth, and lightness creating a safe space for both new and experienced yoga students.
Susan teaches accessible ashtanga yoga, restorative yoga, guided meditation and holds workshops on the subtle energy systems of the body. Susan's compassionate and embodied approach to yoga helps students to access compassion towards themselves. In her classes, she focuses on the breath as a way to connect deeply to oneself and let go of the stagnant/stuck energy so that we can live lighter, happier, and feel more peace.
In addition, Susan has furthered her yoga studies in trauma-informed yoga with Mariana Caplan and is well educated and read in the areas of imbalances in the student/teacher relationship - concerning the spiritual path. She has also taken courses and workshops in Somatic Experiencing taught by Peter Levine.
Susan loves learning and continues to delve deeper on her yoga path. She completed a restorative yoga teacher training Level 1 with Judith Lasater and LIzzie Lasater in 2020, and specialized in Yoga for Menopause in 2022.
For the past years has been studying Kriya Yoga meditation with her spiritual teacher Yogacharya Ellen Grace O´Brian.
For several years Susan worked with Bonnie Greenwell learning to be a support to yoga students who are experiencing difficulties in their awakening process or going through spiritual emergence. In September 2022, she completed the Spiritual Emergence Coach training through Integrative Mental Health University (imhu.org) under the direction and guidance of founder Dr. Emma Bragdon.
In 2020 Susan founded and developed Kosha Yoga teacher training in Porsgrunn Norway - an affiliation with Kosha Yoga School in Sioux Falls SD.
Susan teaches in both Norwegian and English.
