Lila (lee-laa) Lolling is an experienced Hatha Yoga, meditation, and classical yoga philosophy teacher for nearly 20 years. Her primary source of education is through the world-renowned International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres for which she has been affiliated for nearly twenty years.
An accomplished presenter and writer, Lila artfully combines the ancient teachings of yoga philosophy with modern day living. She is a dedicated yoga and practitioner who has lived and taught at traditional yoga ashrams (monasteries) around the globe. She travels the world teaching yoga retreats, immersions, and teacher training courses.
In December 2016, Lila published her first book Walking the Ancient Path of Yoga, an in-depth study of Raja Yoga. It was written with the intention to be a yoga philosophy guidebook for yoga teacher training courses and book clubs.
In 2008, Lila founded the DeafYoga Foundation, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to creating more opportunities for yoga in ASL. This work led her to being voted Yoga Journal's Teacher Feature for her role as a link between yoga and the Deaf community. She was also one of five panelists to speak on yoga and peace at the United Nation's International Day of Yoga hosted in NYC.
In July 2018, Lila graduated from Omega Institute's Ecological Literacy Immersion Program, a Permaculture Design Course that further inspired her in her endeavor, EcoYoga Life which was envisioned in the Himalayas a year prior and birthed in the Hudson Valley this past summer.
Lila grew up in the country, yet has lived in major cities. She still finds her most precious moments are exploring nature's forests and sacred waters. She is an avid gardener, homesteader, and yoga practitioner who believes in the regenerative power of nature and spirit.
