My foundational teaching is in the Sivananda Hatha yoga lineage. Over the years, my style of teaching has evolved to embrace a flowing moving meditation practice that encourages intuitive movement and poses, while still honouring the roots of classical yoga. Classes are an inspired blend of asanas, stretches, breath awareness, pranayama, meditation, devotional music, chanting and relaxation. It is my intention to help each student to discover for themselves the deeper meaning of yoga, and to experience yoga less as a "doing" and more as a way of "being". My classes foster a sense of community and are welcoming to people of all ages (preferably 12+ up), races, ability, religion, sexual orientation, body type and financial status (sliding scales are available).
Additionally, I now offer Sound Therapy healing sessions either as an adjunct to yoga classes or as stand-alone sessions honouring the ancient practice of Nada (sound) yoga. These sessions incorporate the use of mantra, meditation and Yoga Nidra. My certification in Yoga Nidra also comes from the Grass Valley Sivananda Ashram training programme.
