"Come to the root of the root of your self."
I'm a yoga teacher based in Madison Wisconsin, where I primarily teach slow, mindful kinds of yoga like yin yoga, gentle hatha yoga, trauma-informed hatha yoga, yoga for stress, yoga for grief, candlelight yoga, and Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, an evidence based approach to working with complex trauma.
I also offer a range of yoga classes for families and children of all ages, combining fun hatha postures with movement, games, singing, and mindfulness... as well as Yoga Arts camps in the summer, and Spanish language yoga classes for adults and for kids.
I have been teaching yoga with people of all ages and in a wide variety of contexts since 2007. I love to support students as they become more deeply rooted in their own breath and bodies, and I love seeing each person discover in their own unique approach to yoga some new energy, clarity, self-respect, strength, humor, compassion, resilience, or joy.
I am a 200-hour registered and certified hatha yoga teacher, with additional training in Yin Yoga (70 hours with Paul Grilley and Sarah Powers) and Trauma Center Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (or TCTSY; 40 hours with David Emerson and Jenn Turner). And I'm excited to be a certificate candidate in the 2015/2016 110-hour teacher training program in TCTSY, through the Trauma Center of the Justice Resource Institute in Brookline, MA.
I hope that you'll have found here something that interests you; please don't hesitate to contact me with any questions or to register for classes.
