Neil is a skilled compassionate clinician, engaging educator, and a leader in pain management in Canada. He is a physical therapist, Clinical Associate Professor at University of British Columbia, and author. Neil developed and leads Pain Care Aware trainings, integrating western pain science, with aspects of yoga and the lived experience of pain. He completed a certificate in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and is a faculty member for numerous IAYT accredited programs. He is the recipient of the Excellence in Inter-Professional Pain Education Award from the Canadian Pain Society, the founding Chair of the Canadian Physiotherapy Pain Science Division and was awarded the 2015 Distinguished Alumni award from his alma mater, Queen’s University, for his work in Physiotherapy Pain Management. In addition to his volunteer work, and offering workshops and pain science education through Canada and internationally, he has worked for the past three years teaching pain management to primary care MDs and specialists.
