Marie Brown Berg (M.Ed., E-RYT 500, BFA.) is an International Yoga Alliance certified teacher from the Sivananda and Relax & Renew Restorative yoga traditions. She has been studying yoga since 1999 and teaching in Saskatoon since 2005. She received her preliminary teacher training from the Sivananda Vedanta Yoga Ashram in the Bahamas and has completed a 4 year training in the Yoga Sutras with senior teachers of the Sivananda lineage. She is also an Advanced Certified Relax & Renew Restorative yoga teacher trained by Judith Hanson Lasater P.h.D.
With a love for learning, Marie continues to study with teachers of many yoga traditions including master teachers from the Restorative, Sivananda, Jivamukti, Yin, Kundalini, Iyengar and Tibetan Heart yoga lineages. Her classes integrate Asana (postures), Vinyasa (dynamic flow), Meditation (concentration), Pranayama (breath-work), and Sanskrit Mantras and her teaching style has been described as gentle, meditative and authentic to the yoga tradition.
Marie is currently teaching yoga throughout the city, including classes at the YWCA, for Saskatoon’s Community Associations, for non-profit organizations and for the students of the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division. She serves as the Vice President of the Yoga Association of Saskatchewan and stands committed to serving the sacred teachings of yoga with integrity, to all those who want peace.
