From a very young age, Lorraine was fascinated by the beauty of movement and music. Her childhood was spent exploring the body through gymnastics, ice skating and different styles of dance. In her early twenties, a strong calling to the path of yoga became the catalyst for many deeper realisations in her life and she left everything behind to follow this call.

She has now been immersed in yoga for thirty years. Her studies have taken her to both traditional Indian ashrams and modern day gurus. She has explored the traditional yogic paths of Hatha, Tantra, Bhakti and Jnana and has specialised in training women to become yoga teachers. More recently she has become very inspired by somatic based practices and trauma informed yoga, recognising how important this work is right now in our current world.

Her yoga style has a rich feminine quality that embodies the beauty of the fluid form while honouring all the different layers within us. Learning to feel and connect with compassion is what she loves to point to. Her classes are a tender journey of radical honesty. They are a journey into knowing, accepting and loving yourself more deeply.

Lorraine has been blessed to study directly with the following teachers:

~ Shiva Rea for Vinyasa Flow

~ Paul Dallaghan for Ashtanga Vinyasa

~ Richard Freeman for Ashtanga Vinyasa

~ Sri OP Tiwari of the Kaivalydham Yoga Research Institute for Pranayama

~ Sahajananda, founder of Hridaya Yoga, for silent meditation, Tantra, Kashmir Shaivism and the practice of Self-Enquiry

~ Shanti Mayi for Satsang in her yearly pilgrimage to India

~ Gabor Mate for Trauma Awareness (online)
