Charlotte Ranz is an Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher 500 (E-RYT500) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Charlotte has been practicing yoga since 1995 and teaching yoga since 2000. Her teaching philosophy stems from her yoga lineage - Vanda Scaravelli - "Do not kill the instinct of the body for the glory of the pose." She received her teacher training from yoga master, Esther Myers, who studied directly with Vanda Scaravelli.
Charlotte teaches all levels of yoga, including gentle yoga for those who desire easy, simple movements and relaxation as well as ongoing yoga for those desiring a deeper experience involving inversions, pranayam and meditation. She also works with seniors and less mobile individuals as well as those residing in assisted living facilities. Additionally, she offers yoga on an individual basis for individuals working with specific issues.
As part of her education, Charlotte received extensive training in anatomy, working with those who have limitations and disabilities, and understanding the mechanics of the body in motion. In addition to completing a two-year teacher training program, she also earned a certificate of completion from Duke Integrative Medicine for Yoga for Cancer Awareness as well as a a certificate to teach Seniors. She also has completed courses in Nuad Boran for Yoga and Bodywork, Accu-Yoga with Michael Gach, and has her Reiki Jin Kei Do Master Practitioner certification.
As a tribute to her aunt with dementia and Alzheimer's who resides in an assisted living facility, Charlotte volunteers to teach a gentle movement class to their residents. She also conducts weekly classes in Shallotte for all levels.
