Caroline Gebhardt is a somatic psychotherapist, Registered Somatic Movement Educator & Therapist (ISMETA), trauma-informed Chi for Two® embodiment coach and Registered Yoga Teacher. She offers psychotherapy, somatic movement education, and embodiment coaching to individuals, couples and families at Harbor of Dreams Art, an expressive arts counseling practice, in Atlanta, GA. While specializing in disordered eating and trauma-informed parenting, she draws upon a blend of somatic and cognitive techniques from an polyvagal-informed, attachment-based approach.

Caroline completed her M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Georgia State University and has presented at several national and local continuing education workshops teaching body-based techniques informed by nervous system science and developmental movement. Caroline practices from a Healthy at Every Size® approach, and has training in perinatal mental health from Postpartum Support International.

In addition to teaching movement for 25 years, working as an attachment-based psychotherapist specializing in eating and body image problems helped her to recognize the value of trauma-informed practices, nervous system functioning, and healthy relationships in healing. This led Caroline to help co-create a multigenerational trauma healing method called Chi for Two–The Energetic Dance of Healthy Relationship. While developing Chi for Two, in an effort to focus on early relational life embodiment as a foundation for being well fed, she created M-Bodied: Mindful Movement as Mothering Medicine®, which uses specific parent/infant co-regulation practices as symbolic redos for deep nourishment.

Along with being inspired by teachers, mentors and clients, Caroline is a mother of three lively children. Their zest for life reminds her to stay curious and appreciate her own embodiment journey not only as sacred but also fun! While Caroline loves her clinical work and enjoys presenting body-based trauma healing to other professionals, she balances out her sensitive healer side with playful explorations of interpretive dance, practicing the piano, reading thrillers, loving on her cats, writing poetry, and wrestling with her boys.
