Asherah began practicing Jivamukti yoga at age 16. Growing up with a mother severely addicted to narcotics, inspired Ash to investigate spirituality and alternative methods of wellness early on in her life.
By age twenty, Asherah began studying to become a yoga teacher under her mentor Kathleen Santor. She continued her search for truth and wisdom at UNLV studying Eastern philosophy and Eastern religion, while simultaneously teaching yoga to patients at an acupuncture clinc under the direct guidance of Dr. Alissa Wampole, OMD.
Wanting to bring the light of yoga to "Sin City", Ash opened her first yoga studio with the Modo Yoga franchise at age 25 and her second yoga studio Evolution Yoga by age 26.
She has since trained under teachers such as Ted Grand, founder of Moksha Yoga, Annie Carpenter, founder of SmartFlow, Aileen Epstein Ignadiou, founder of the Iyengar Yoga Center, and George Feuerstein PH.D Indologist - Founder of Traditional Yoga Studies. She has immersed herself in the studies and practices of authentic Snatamn Dharma for over 10 years learning from masters of many traditions including The Vedanta Society of RamaKrishna and other Tantrik Siddha masters. After "yoga hoping" for many years she finally found a home with Paramahansa Yogananda as her Guru and formally became initiated into the Kriya Yoga path through the Self-Realization Fellowship.
Asherah's mother, Lisa, has now been sober for many years after pursuing yoga and alternative wellness. Ash is the founder of Sacred Yoga Institute, a school focused on exploring the roots of authentic yoga especially within the branches of Tantra. She hosts retreats and yoga teacher trainings on her home island, Big Island Hawaii. She is also the co-author of The Inner Work, a three time top 10 best selling book on Amazon in the category of spiritual self-help.
