Alan Lowenschuss (aka "Allowah"), BA Philosophy, MA Religion, E-RYT 500, has been a student of philosophy and world spirituality since his early teens, and a student of Yoga for the past 20+ years. Alan holds a BA and an MA from the University of Pennsylvania, and from 1997-2001 did post-graduate work in Kabbalah and Yoga at New York University. He is registered as an E-RYT 500 through Yoga Alliance, and also earned a 300-hour certification through Dr. David Frawley’s American Institute of Vedic Studies. In 2016, Alan completed a 300-Hour Yoga certification through the Dharma Yoga Center in New York City.
In addition to his formal training, Alan has studied Yoga with other teachers both in India and the U.S., including Sri Karunamayi, David Swenson, Sri Anandi Ma, Ganga White, Tracey Rich, and Dharma Mittra. For the past 16 years, Alan has taught Yoga full-time in Florida, and has offered yoga trainings and retreats around the world.
In 2006, Alan began teaching 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Trainings in order to promote and raise awareness about Yoga and its rich heritage. In 2018, Alan with his partner, Beata Kollarova, opened Sonrisa Yoga & Dance Studio in Naples, Florida. To date, he has logged over 10,000 teaching hours has offered over 30 Yoga Teacher Trainings, and has certified 59 Yoga teachers.
Alan, using the pen name "Allowah Lani," has authored two books and in 2016, Alan came out with a CD of music, Heart 'n' Hands: A Musical Celebration of A Course in Miracles, available on CD Baby and iTunes.
