Experienced teacher sharing the joy of yoga through a fun, alignment based asana practice. I root my classes in anatomy and strive to make them accessible regardless of your fitness level or range of flexibility. Yoga is a process, not a performance. I teach yoga because I want to spread kindness & compassion and that starts with connecting to & accepting ourselves. I believe peace can be found when we connect to our true selves and are met with loving acceptance.
Yoga is a tool for living meaningful, peaceful, healthy lives. It helps us to reconnect, reduce our experience of stress, and optimize mobility as we age. The yoga practice helps us to move through life with more intention and less impulsivity.
I started practicing yoga in 2002 and completed my RYT in 2009. I earned my 500 RYT in March 2018. I have taught in gyms and studios, group and private lessons, from beginners to intermediate yogis, and athletic as well as gentle classes. Since graduating from my first teacher training I completed over 700 hours of additional training in asana techniques, teaching methodology, yoga philosophy and anatomy. Holding the seat of the teacher requires a commitment to continued learning and exploration combined with a humble heart.
I completed my 200 hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Balance in McKinney, TX with Tracy Carruth. In 2010 I completed a 100 hour Anusara yoga immersion with Becky Klett of Denton Yoga Studio. In 2018 I completed the 300 Hour Advanced Training at Yoga Collective in Atlanta, GA with Gina Minyard. I also completed Wisdom Warrior training with Desiree Rumbaugh. I regularly attend yoga training & workshops. I honor the wisdom of all my teachers, which infuses my instruction.
Prior to teaching yoga I was a product manager in the telecommunications industry. I have an MBA from the University of Maryland and a BS in Marketing from Penn State University.
