Movement is one of the biggest ways we can influence the way we think, feel and live. The connection between the body and the mind is unmistakable. By moving in intelligent, practical, playful ways, we can develop patterns of patience, confidence & freedom. The small shifts in thinking can turn into radical life changes.
For me, that radical life change came eight years into my advertising career when I was deep into the NYC hustle. I was asked to go to the gym by a friend on a New Years resolution mission. I started working out and going to yoga classes, and immediately noticed a 180 in my health and outlook. I was hooked—yoga became an integral part of my life. That later snowballed into a life of doing and teaching a variety of movement practices and I couldn't be happier.
My mantra — Move intelligently, practically & playfully. For life.
INTELLIGENTLY — Movement is both art and science. You MUST move in ways that work for your unique body, paying close attention to your patterns, respecting progressions and building strength.
PRACTICALLY — Are you a corporate rockstar? Are you your kids' monkey bar hero? Are you a badass triathlete? How can your training help you do that better for longer?
PLAYFULLY — As adults, we've forgotten how to play. The best comment I've ever heard in class was from a women who beamed "I've never done a cartwheel like that before!" It's about re-discovering the joy and curiosity that we left on the playground.
