Since 2007, I have been teaching public and private classes - mainly in Copenhagen, Denmark. 2013-2023, I was the lead trainer of the Yoga Teacher Training program at Axelsons Gymnastiska Institut in Stockholm, Sweden - a program that I was also responsible for creating + wrote the 200 pages manual. For some years, I was also leading RYS200 trainings for Axelsons in Gothenburg, Sweden and Oslo, Norway.
Currently, I am excited to be one of the lead teachers at BeLove Yoga Studio, CC's Hideaway in Karon, Phuket, Thailand - and exited about building up a teacher training here - we are aiming at launching it in April 2024!
My teaching style is based on alignment and mindfulness, inviting the participant to practice slowly but strongly. In my viewpoint, deep alignment work can be a great tool to access a body-based meditative approach. Further, I want to inspire an attitude of listening and paying respect to ones' own unique body, in each moment. I find one of the greatest things to do as a teacher is to encourage self-leadership, and if possible, self-practice.
In my own practice, the work on the mat is a wonderful, physical, tangible mirror of life as well as a tool for going deeper physically as well as mentally. My personal benefits from practice have included fx increased patience, love and self-esteem, release from a couple of bodily issues plus strength and motivation to quit addictive habits and develop strong tapas.
I discovered physical yoga at age 17 - in 1993 - and its core has been with me ever since. I have been a student of multiple styles, in the later years mainly into Anusara. My asana teaching style can be described as a slow, mindful Vinyasa yoga. I also have a passion for meditation, got introduced to Transcendental Meditation in childhood, later switched into a Mindfulness/Vipassana practice. I am certified as a Mindfulness trainer. I am also an asana model at www.yogidia.org, where you can build your own sequences from the photos.
