Pooja Maddela is a Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with an approved and active Registered Yoga School (RYS).
Pooja is an exceedingly skilled master yoga teacher/mentor, yoga teacher trainer and clinician. She runs a busy clinical practice with an emphasis on integration of Yoga, Ayurveda and Eastern Naturopathy. She worked for many years as assistant head of faculty and senior tutor at Wellpark College, Auckland, New Zealand. She is currently a PhD graduate from University of Technology Sydney, Sydney, Australia researching in the field of Australian women use of integrated health care for lower back pain.
An exceedingly skilled teacher and clinician, Pooja worked as Assistant head of faculty Yoga and senior tutor at Wellpark College teaching Yoga Diploma programs for many years. Her teaching and clinical skills are legendary – she has received several awards including:
“Tutor of the Year” 2010 from New Zealand Association of Private Education Providers (NZAPEP).
“Yogini Award” 2010 from AAPNA, USA for Excellence in Teaching and Practicing Yoga
“Kiran Achievement Award” 2009 a National Women Excellence Award for contribution in the field of Yoga
“Best Faculty Award” from Swara Darshini Film Institute, Hyderabad for Excellency in voice training for dubbing artists.
Pooja is well known for her unique quality of applying philosophy into practice. Her expertise in sculpting the mind and the body through the traditional practices has transformed numerous students in their personal journey and academic and professional development. She has also initiated and is actively involved with many community health programs in Yoga with the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Education. She sees her role as promoting the Indian Traditional art of Yoga and Naturopathy to the Western world.
Pooja teaches group classes, workshops and courses in Yoga, Ayurveda, and Naturopathy. She has many years of experience successfully managing a wide range of health disorders such as muscular-skeletal problems, arthritis, obesity, depression, asthma, hypertension and many other chronic health conditions. She also specializes in women’s healthcare including hormonal imbalances and pre- and post-natal management.
