My story is much like any other, I imagine. I "discovered" yoga about thirty years ago and as we all know, life happens. Kids, work, politics, community - everything "got in the way" of establishing my practice. It wasn't until nearly nine years ago, after losing a major political campaign (devastating) and losing my mother a month later (truly devastating) that I rediscovered yoga and found myself and my passion. Even then, time challenged me. When a serious car accident in 2011 nearly took me out, I was forced to sit, be still, and contemplate what was next for me. Changed my life - for the better.
Now, I've turned those life experiences and my passion into reality, having completed my 200 RYT in 2012 and opening my own yoga studio/wellness collaborative. I am thrilled to be solidly on my path, sharing my love for yoga and for the yoga life with my students and customers and community.
My classes tend to be "heart and soul centered", understanding that each and everyone of us comes to class presenting one issue or another. I believe that yoga is a lifelong process and that advanced practice isn't necessarily about physical poses. I am always learning - reading, practicing, teaching - and am fully committed to the yogic life as I understand the eight limbs of yoga. I share the yoga philosophy as well as yoga asana in my studio and have been honored time and again with the heartfelt stories of hope and personal accomplishments of my students as they grow in their own practice.
In addition to studio time, I take great delight in serving individual clients, helping them work through their issues and find peace and contentment through specific, tailored focus on body-directed poses and guided breathwork and meditation.
