Hi
I am an ex ultra runner and long distance hiker in mountainous regions and am now aged 63.
I started a regular practice of Yin Yoga in 2019. My hips were stiff and I had restricted movement elsewhere. Quickly I realised that this kind of yoga suits me. The long held poses go deep into the connective tissues to relieve chronic holding. I see it as a kind of meditation. Ive practiced most mornings since then and find that Yin Yoga has helped to increase the range of motion in major muscles and joint areas particularly in the lower half of the body.
It is possible that my lack of flexibility improved running economy. I don't run anymore so I can't say for certain. With yoga I am experiencing a new relationship with my body and enjoying a range of movement I've not had since youth.
I decided I would like to share my passion for Yin Yoga with others. I undertook an intensive 200hr Yoga teacher training with the Zenways master Daizan.
Currently (early 2023) I am teaching private classes.
The photo of me was taken in the Compiegne forest 2022. I am joint UK/French nationality.
