I have always been absorbed in both a creative and a meditative approach to life. I am a deeply curious person and rather than knowing where I might end up, I let myself be guided by a questioning mind. In yoga I let this same exploration lead my practice, both in asana as well as meditation. I let the study come from the feed-back of my body and mind. Where will my body as it is at this moment lead me? I am interested in moving towards what feels alive and nourishing. It is an unfolding of questions and answers as I allow my practice to be a living and creative process, a moving and intuitive response rather than a predetermined one.
My teaching follows a similar approach. It comes from a point of inquiry into what my students discover within themselves as well as where I as a teacher can offer guidance. For this reason, at this point, I offer private classes only, personalised to the student I’m working with. My intention is to introduce yoga asana, somatics and meditation in order to help each person move through everyday life with confidence and grace.
In addition to my 200 RYT with Uplifted Yoga, I continue to take courses to further my understanding of yoga, movement and well-being. These include Experiential Anatomy with Judith Hanson Lasater, Yoga Wellness Educator training with YogaUonline, Fascia and the Nervous System with the Myofascial Institute of Cananda and various others.
In my personal life apart from a number of creative passions, I love food and nature, which means when I’m not teaching I’m most likely in the garden planting or harvesting organic fruits and vegetables or in the kitchen turning said vegetables into something tasty. I may also be simply listening to the odd bird singing their song somewhere in the trees and bushes or watching the wildlife that passes on occassion through the garden.
