Suzanne Phelps Chambers is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) with the Yoga Alliance who completed her yoga teacher training at the Amrit Yoga Institute with teacher Lauren Nirali McCrea in 2021***I have been in love with yoga ever since I took my first gentle yoga class at Kripalu in Lenox, MA in 1999. Since that time, I have been a long-term student of Kundalini, gentle yoga and more recently Amrit yoga. I am delighted and honored to begin teaching yoga, a gift which has changed my life.
I am certified to teach Amrit Yoga and Amrit Yoga Nidra, (additionally I have other certifications in Energy Medicine from the Rhys Thomas Institute and in Psychosynthesis Guiding and Coaching from the Synthesis Center, Amherst, MA.) I experienced deep and powerful transformations and healing of body, mind and spirit through my own personal daily yoga practice over many years. With a 30 year professional background in the high-stress business world of textbook publishing, I first turned to yoga to alleviate work stress, improve sleep, and to approach my life with more calm and equanimity. I was a student of Amarjit Khalsa in (Healthworks for Women and YMCA, Boston and Brighton, MA) for about 10 years. I share yoga with others to help reduce stress and to cultivate a sense of peace and well being. I have a strong understanding and knowledge regarding the history, philosophy and practice of yoga as relates to the lineage and teachings of Bapuji, Swami Kripalu and those of his disciple, Yogi Amrit Desai (Amrit Yoga Institute). With extensive experience in the twelve steps, I also teach yoga to populations in recovery from drug addiction, alcoholism and codependency to assist in reducing stress and enhancing overall well-being. I will teach individuals both in-person and online, and groups in person at select locations. If you would like to learn to develop your own daily practice or practice one-on-one with me, I am happy to schedule personalized yoga sessions with you on Zoom.
