Dr. Aileen McCabe-Maucher is the author of the books The Inner Peace Diet (Penguin, 2008) and the forthcoming Self-care for College Students: Yoga and Beyond (Cognella Academic Press, 2018). She currently works as a clinical social worker and lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania School of Social Policy and Practice and also holds faculty appointments at Simmons College and the University of Maryland.
Aileen is a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist who has helped many people find inner peace and discover their unique life purpose. Aileen has worked for nearly 20 years as a licensed psychotherapist, social worker and registered nurse providing individual and group counseling to a diverse client population.
She received her doctorate in clinical social work from the University of Pennsylvania and is also a graduate of West Chester University, Widener University, University of Delaware, and The Gestalt Institute of Philadelphia at Bryn Mawr College.
Aileen began practicing yoga at age 3 alongside her grandmother Dolly Mccabe, her first yoga teacher. Aileen completed her formal yoga teacher’s training course at Leela Mata’s Peaceful Valley Ashram and also studied yoga formally at The Yoga Lifestyle Center in Paoli, Pa in 2004.
