As a professional ballet and modern dancer with a Master of Fine Arts degree in Choreography, Anna Leo has spent most of her life studying the body in motion. She imbues her yoga classes with the vivid imagery of a choreographer, helping both beginner and more experienced practitioners better envision and create the sensation of the asana they are studying. She began her Iyengar yoga training in 1983 with Ellen Saltonstall in New York City, and she continued her studies with Kathleen Pringle at the Stillwater Iyengar Studio in Atlanta, where she also taught from 2000-2020. In addition, she has studied with Geeta and Prashant Iyengar at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India. Leo completed a 200-hour Prajna Yoga certification program at Atlanta’s Vista Yoga in November 2021. Associate Professor Emerita at Emory University’s Department of Theater and Dance, she continues to teach yoga privately and online in Atlanta.
