Michelle Pugh, owner of Joonbug Yoga, is a traveling Experienced 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 500) through Yoga Alliance. She is certified in various holistic practices by Living Spirit Yoga School, YogaFit®, Forrest Yoga®, Reiki Fitness® and Twist Yoga Edmonds. Her depth of experience stems from over 20 years of training in Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Thai Yoga Bodywork and Hot Yoga.
Michelle established Joonbug Yoga in 2010 with a passion to blend her creative talents with health, wellness and community. Her diverse fitness experience comes from over 30 years of athletics, ballet and dedicated yoga training. Michelle's yoga classes blend creativity, strength, balance, flexibility and flow blooming straight from the heart!
She established Joonbug Yoga studio and operated the brick and mortar space from 2010 through 2017, managing 12 teachers and the business (i.e. marketing, communications, accounting, etc.). Michelle designed the curriculum for Joonbug Yoga's 200 hour yoga teacher training program and certified over thirty yoga teachers from 2014 through 2019 with the help of 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Rebekah Brems, 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Camelia Pugh and 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher, Dr. Patti Shelton, M.D.
Joonbug Yoga was nominated for Business of the Year by the Shelton Mason County Chamber of Commerce in 2014.
Michelle's expertise in marketing and visual communication is rooted in her graphic design career. She graduated from The Art Institute of Seattle and has worked professionally as a Senior Graphic Designer for Washington state government, non-profit organizations and small businesses since 1996. Michelle was previously employeed with The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission, The Olympian Newspaper, The Tacoma News Tribune and Indian Country Today Newspaper and continues to design websites and print publications through her freelance business, Joonbug Graphic Design.
"Travel light, spread the light, be the light" is one of Michelle's favorite mantras. Her yoga path is grounded in family, nature, creativity and movement since childhood. She enjoys spending time with her husband and son skiing, fly fishing, beading, growing, harvesting and making herbal products while exploring the beauty of the Olympic Mountains!

Michelle offers Myofascial Release for Yoga and Wellness, the Art of Yoga Nidra Meditation, Ayurveda on the Mat, Thai Yoga Bodywork (women only), LaStone Hot Stone Bodywork and Usui Reiki upon request.
Her private sessions combine a diverse menu of holistic practices depending on the client's personal needs and may include Yoga, Thai Yoga Bodywork (women only), Reiki, Tibetan singing and crystal bowls, essential oils, herbs, Chakra energy balancing, gem, crystal and stones for overall wellness.
Michelle currently shares yoga at Alderbrook Resort and Spa, Alderbrook Golf and Yacht Club, the Chehalis Tribe, the Nisqually Tribe, the Squaxin Island Tribe, the Skokomish Tribe, Washington State agencies, the Salmon Center and local schools. She enjoys volunteering at employee wellness events.
