Emily has been practicing yoga for over two decades and has been teaching yoga for over 7 years. Her mom introduced her to yoga in Detroit, and practice has been an integral part of her life ever since. Emily's asana practice and teaching is most deeply rooted in the ashtanga and vinyasa traditions but also draws from her experience practicing a broad range of styles, including anusara, Iyengar, and viniyoga. As a yoga teacher, Emily blends creative and intelligent sequencing, alignment instruction, and individualized feedback based on client needs. Developing insight through meditation has also been an essential component of Emily's practice, and many classes conclude with a brief sitting period. Emily attributes her dedication to practicing and teaching yoga to her belief that practice improves physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing for all.
Emily currently offers hatha, vinyasa, and deep stretch classes both in person and online.
