Vincent (RYT- MFA-BFA) has been teaching professionally since 1991. With his over 30 years teaching experience, teaching practical Movement Classes and Movement Analysis -including Yoga- at various acclaimed Universities and Schools; he has had the privilege of sharing his unique approach throughout the world. His classes focus on improving your movement awareness and potential in an inspiring and illuminating way. His Yoga classes, both Hatha and Yin, are informed by years of study in Anatomy and Physiology, Human Reflexes and Developmental movement patterns, and how they support all human movement, as they form the base of all movement. Through the use of simple and understandable anatomical imagery, physiology and body-theory can be applied at the neurological level opening the door for re-patterning.
He holds both a Bachelors and Masters of Fine Art’s degrees focusing on Movement Research. In his youth he was a competitive gymnast and first practiced yoga at the age of eight. He has practiced Yoga throughout his life, studying Yoga philosophy at Virginia Commonwealth University. He utilises a detailed movement study, alongside years of experience helping people move better in all aspects of life.
His classes are informed by Arhanta Yoga Schools’ Rishikesh- Asana-sequence. The class could be described best as a Hatha-flow class, incorporating aspects of Yin-Yoga. The class focuses primarily on the self, where each individuals movement potential is explored. The class works on functional strength, balance, fluidity of movement, greater movement range; and finding a steady, stable, and comfortable state.
While I have studied numerous Somatic and embodied practices (Gymnastics, Dance, Martial Arts, Feldenkrais Method, Alexander Technique, Body Mind Centring, Ideo-Kinesis etc.). For me nothing has had the transformative effect of Yoga. I study Yoga because it has so profoundly helped me develop as a human being. From applying what I have learned from Yoga I have seen growth and healing in myself that I want to share. I am so grateful for the Indigenous wisdom of Yoga. The classes I offer not only focus on understanding Asana's anatomically, but, more importantly on the self in the practice.
