Cristina Menendez is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT 200) with Yoga Alliance, which acknowledges the completion of a yoga teacher training with a Registered Yoga School (RYS) - Himalaya Yoga Valley (Lalit Kumar).
In addition Cristina completed 'Yoga for Seniors Professional Training' with Kimberly Carson and Carol Krucoff (based on the program taught at Duke Integrative Medicine in the US) and "STEADI' (Stopping Elderly Accidents, Deaths and Injuries) training from the CDC, a program based on recommendations from the British and American Geriatric Societies.
Cristina is a forever student and continues to attend trainings/webinars on topics geared towards seniors such as balance, osteoporosis, fascia, arthritis (just to name a few).
Cristina is passionate about yoga and its effects on the mind, the body and overall wellness. This is especially so for the 65+ group, who I feel stand the most to gain from a regular yoga practice. The Himalayan Tradition has been passed down experientially over millennia, where the teacher guides the student and the student guides the teacher. As a teacher and a student, Cristina is grateful to her students for allowing her to continue in her yogic journey and for the opportunity to pass on a part of this ancient knowledge.
