Hello, my name is Ben van Haasen, I have 3 sons and I am naturally sporty. In my early years I did a lot of gymnastics and in addition to being a skilled sports climber today.
Initially I practiced Yoga on a recreational level in addition to my other sports and job as an independent entrepreneur. For me it doesn't feel like I discovered Yoga but Yoga also discovered me! When I once went to the shala the regular session was canceled due to a 3 day workshop with Philippa Asher, I decide taking part and from that moment on I became inspired and my need was fueled to deepen myself in Ashtanga Yoga. After several workshops I decided to follow the yoga teacher training.
What is Yoga? Is a specific question mainly because it is a very personal question. What's important is that Yoga is all about you. So everyone has their own needs and spiritual path. One wants to work hard, the other wants to soften and deepen, yet another mainly seeks relaxation and calmness and so on. That it is unique for everyone and without judgment, makes Yoga valuable, it can help you to lead a balanced life alongside all the benefits.
