I have a background in dance and fitness and when I started yoga, I thought it would be a nice easy stretch for my body as dance and strength classes were really starting to take a toll on my body. After my first class I found it was NOT as easy as I thought it would be, it involved so many more aspects then I thought. It became apparent quite quickly that yoga is the body, the mind and the breath working in unison with each other. I found that after classes I had a sense of peace and joy and eventually this started to integrate into my everyday life on and off the mat. Yoga has inspired me to live each moment more mindfully and fully.
Why the the name hummingbirdYOGA? It’s very simple for me. My mom passed away in July of 2020, she was my best friend and absolutely LOVED hummingbirds. The name is in tribute to the beautiful soul that my mom was.
