I was born and raised in the city of Porbandar, located in Gujarat in Western India.  I started practicing yoga and karate at the age of 7 and was awarded a black belt, and a gold medalist, in fight competitions in karate at age 20 and gold medalist in yoga at age 21.

With my early immersion into yoga & karate and excellent communication skills, I was hand-picked by a local yoga & karate entrepreneur to be trained as his protégé and work alongside him to help advance his business. This unusual opportunity kick-started my journey into teaching yoga at the age of 15.

Over the years, other than teaching in my hometown of Porbandar (1999-2003), I had traveled extensively around India and had taught in Mithapur (2003), Jamnagar (2003-2004), and Ahmedabad (2004-2005).  From 2005-2009, I worked for the famed Swami Ramdev (Haridwar), Bharat Thakur, in his yoga studios in Gurgaon, Delhi, Hyderabad,  and Mumbai. During my time in Mumbai, my skill was further heightened and solidified through my exposure to training demanding Bollywood celebrities.

In 2008, I also started running my yoga studio in Mumbai geared towards small class size and personalized services to cater to the needs of more demanding clients as well as targeted personal training for those with specific needs compounded with stringent time and aesthetic demands.

My international experience began when I started working for Planet Yoga Hong Kong in 2009 until its demise in 2010. I have continued with my heritage of teaching traditional yoga with a strong flavor of body conditioning due to the exposure of my martial art. Joining Fitness First from 2012-2022 has furthered widened my scope of training clients who are both fit and athletic but grapple issues of stiffness, joint & muscular pain along with sports injuries.

Having taught yoga for more than 20 years, I have acquired a teaching style that is both concise and creative. I believe in a multi-disciplinary approach where many diverse elements culled from my exposure to martial arts as well as others are adopted and applied consistently to help students. This has continued to set me apart from trainers with yoga-only training. I believe I can help students achieve flexibility, strength, stamina, and alignment with speedy results, while still showing them diversity in my classes with refreshing and fun sequencing. My classes are known for being both challenging and empowering.

I have also received plenty of accolades from private students where I have helped analyzed, and identified their problem areas and designed yoga moves methodically and structured programs to expedite their progress.

In Dec 2021, I have opened my own yoga studio (Yoga Trends Studio) in Hong Kong to offer specialised themed classes such as Backhanding & Inversions, Aerial Trapeze from beginner - advance level, Body Conditioning for better movement and control as well as  personalised service through small group or private sessions, organise workshops, various teachers training of both Mat and Aerial Trapeze.

I am committed to sharing the gift of yoga to novices and am equally enthused to guide and challenge serious practitioners to take them beyond their physical capabilities and reach their greatest potential.
