I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Teacher that is internationally trained. My first 200 hours of training were done at Senaji Studio in Hachinohe, Japan. The remaining 300 hours I completed at Rishikesh Yogkulam in Rishikesh, India, under Yoga Master Amit Payal, a master known for alignment and adjustment of yoga postures.
The mat is a small part of yoga, but it is a vital piece that begins the journey of yoga for many. The physical practice helps us grow our awareness, connecting body, mind and breath; learning to stay present. Meditation, Pranayama, and understanding the Yoga Sutras are where the deeper and longer journey begin. We each take the first step in a different way, and our paths are very diverse, but the journey takes us all to the same destination.
My journey began on the mat and I will be forever grateful to Polly Lang, the first teacher that drove my awareness deeper, forming my connection to body, mind, and breath. I was blessed to have Barry Grossman, owner of Senaji Studio, open the door for me to the world of meditation and deeper meaning in the Yoga Sutras. Rishikesh Yogkulam opened the world of yoga to me, teaching me several different ways to meditate, giving me a deeper grasp of Yoga philosophy, reinforcing and expanding my knowledge of alignment for yoga postures, and introducing me to Ayurveda. Yoga has become a part of my daily life that I love sharing with others.
